Founder | Board Chair
Teron Williams, MPA, is the Founder and Board Chair of Southside Voices Media Inc., a community-centered nonprofit media organization focused on youth development, civic engagement, and local storytelling throughout Southside Virginia. Through his leadership, the organization was established to create equitable opportunities for youth leadership, community journalism, media training, and public engagement initiatives that strengthen local voices and community connection.
Williams brings a background in public administration, organizational leadership, and community development, with a focus on building sustainable systems that support education, workforce readiness, and civic empowerment. His vision for Southside Voices Media Inc. centers on developing innovative programs that combine media, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement to create meaningful and lasting impact across the Southside region.

Askari Goss is the Secretary of the Board for Southside Voices Media Inc. (SVMINC), where he supports the organization’s mission through administrative leadership, organizational coordination, and community engagement efforts. With a strong commitment to service, accountability, and teamwork, Goss plays an important role in helping maintain effective communication, board organization, and operational support within the organization.
Drawing from his background in leadership, public service, and community involvement, Goss is passionate about initiatives that empower youth, strengthen local communities, and create opportunities for growth and development throughout Southside Virginia. His dedication to professionalism and collaboration helps support SVMINC’s vision of fostering leadership, media engagement, and positive community impact.
As Secretary of the Board, Askari Goss remains committed to ensuring organizational integrity, supporting strategic initiatives, and contributing to programs that inspire civic involvement, mentorship, and meaningful community connection.

Stephanie Mayes, B.S. in Marketing, is a business owner in Emporia, Virginia. Over the last 30 years, she has cultivated strong connections with local businesses, industry leaders, and various government officials throughout the region. Her personal goals now include advocating for those affected by autism and rallying support from local and statewide law enforcement, first responders, and others for the benefit of those similarly affected. Her goal is to educate and inform those who may have a positive impact on potentially adverse outcomes and help connect them with those in need through Southside Voices Media, Inc.

Director at-large — Public Health
Dr. Aariyana Britton is a public health professional, educator, and advocate dedicated to improving health outcomes in rural and undeserved communities. Her work focuses on maternal and child health, chronic disease prevention, health literacy, and community engagement. Through education, prevention, and advocacy, she strives to connect individuals and families with the resources needed to lead healthier lives. As At-Large Director of Public Health, Dr. Britton provides guidance on health initiatives, youth engagement, and community wellness efforts that support the mission of Southside Voices Media Inc.
